Maria Carolina L. D. Melo

With almost 20 years’ experience in the legal field, Maria Carolina Melo works in the areas of civil law, insurance and dispute resolution. Her practice involves assisting clients in advisory and litigation matters, including representing companies from a wide range of sectors in all instances of judicial and administrative tribunals. 

Before joining Bocater Advogados, she worked at a large Brazilian law firm as an associate and partner in the civil and corporate areas. She was also legal and compliance director at Generali Brasil Seguros S.A., where she was responsible for extensive legal advice related to strategic insurance and reinsurance operations, for managing civil and administrative litigation, for drafting and managing contracts, for the company’s corporate governance, including corporate issues, and for relations with the responsible regulatory body (SUSEP).
