Jaques Wurman works in the corporate and capital markets areas, both in the advisory and litigation spheres. Over the years, he has actively participated in several corporate transactions involving the defense of the interests of minority shareholders and controlling shareholders of publicly traded companies and the acquisition of relevant shareholdings in Brazil and abroad. He has also defended clients in administrative proceedings before the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) and the National Financial System Appeals Board (CRSFN). In the advisory area, he advises on issues involving publicly traded companies, managers, investment funds (real estate, private equity and venture capital vehicles), including structuring and advising on investment and divestment of assets, as well as corporate disputes.
He has been part of the Bocater Advogados team for over 20 years. Previously, he worked as a lawyer and partner at a firm specializing in corporate law, coordinating company acquisition projects and due diligences, advising domestic and foreign companies in various sectors, especially in the contractual and corporate areas. He has also participated in privatization projects for national companies, bidding processes and the structuring of the country’s largest hotel complex.
He was also a federal attorney with the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), acting as the agency’s legal representative in administrative proceedings and investigation commissions and in the legal analysis of transactions involving corporate acts of publicly traded companies and market participants. He was also a lawyer at a renowned financial institution, focusing on corporate finance operations.
