Raphael concentrates his practice in the tax area, with special emphasis on administrative and judicial litigation in the federal, state and municipal spheres. He also advises on issues related to tax planning and corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, among others.
Raphael has been an attorney for the State of Rio de Janeiro for more than 10 years, having held various leadership positions, most notably as head of the Active Debt Attorney’s Office and of the Legal Advisory Office of the State Treasury Department. He currently holds the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Tax Prosecutor’s Office, representing the State Treasury on the Rio de Janeiro State Taxpayers Council.
Previously, he was a lawyer for the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of the State of Rio de Janeiro (EMATER) and Petróleo Brasileiro S/A (PETROBRAS), working predominantly in tax litigation.
