Roberto Coimbra has solid experience in the areas of corporate, banking, commercial, social security, tax, administrative, labor, capital markets, competition, environmental, and, also, in civil litigation, labor litigation, and tax litigation. His experience includes serving as legal director of IBM Brasil, Banco IBM S.A., and trustee of the IBM Pension Foundation, being responsible for all legal matters of these companies in Brazil and interacting directly with the Legal Department of IBM Corporation. He was also legal manager of the forestry and pulp companies of the CAEMI group, such as Jari Celulose S.A. and its subsidiaries, working in the corporate, capital markets, environmental, tax, and commercial areas.
He was also a lawyer and deputy legal director of Citibank N.A., with a focus especially on the banking, corporate, commercial, tax, and contractual areas, in addition to civil litigation. He participated in the renegotiation and restructuring of difficult-to-settle operations through compositions using mechanisms from the financial and capital markets. He was also a director of Citiprev Previdência Privada, a member of the Board of Directors of GD Empreendimentos Imobiliários S.A. (a joint venture between the Bozano, Simonsen, Multishopping, Anglo American and Citibank groups) as a representative of Citibank, a member of the Fiscal Council of CMM Caemi Mineração e Metalurgia (CAEMI group), a director and vice-president of Jari Overseas Ltd. (the company responsible for Jari Celulose’s operations abroad), vice-president of Jari International Inc. (the company responsible for marketing products in the North American and Canadian markets), a member of the Fiscal Council and Board of Directors of Jari Celulose and a member of the Board of Trustees of the IBM Pension Foundation.
