The CNN portal reported in a story published this Wednesday (25), that the Electronic Public Records System (Serp, in portuguese) will go into effect throughout Brazil as of next Tuesday (31). It is a new platform that will enable remote and electronic access to public registry services.
The report interviewed our lawyer Pedro Oliveira, who highlighted how the system will bring benefits to the population and will facilitate access to the notary's fundamental services.
"In practice, Serp should represent the modernization and debureaucratization for consultations, certification and registrations, respecting the recent advances in electronic service of notary and registry services, facilitating the access of information and services to Brazilian citizens," says Pedro Oliveira.
According to Law 14,382/2022, Serp will be operated nationally by a non-profit legal entity and funded by a fund, which will be financed by the notary offices.
